Wyatt's Second Birthday and Easter

I am about a month late posting this...sorry. Wyatt turned two on March 11th. We had a wonderful day. Joe and I both took the day off to spend it with our favorite birthday boy. We went to Red Robin for lunch and all the wait staff sang Happy Birthday to him and gave him balloons. After nap, MeMe and PaPa came over for dinner and cake. We gave him his rollercoaster then too. The following Saturday, we had a truck party at home with close family and friends. It was a lot of fun, and Wyatt got so many trucks!!!

I can't believe Easter has came and gone. This year is flying by already. We also had a wonderful Easter. Wyatt loved the Easter Bunny. We saw him at the mall and at a Easter Egg Hunt at Church. He also had fun coloring eggs. The Easter Bunny left his basket at the front door the day before Easter since we weren't going to be home on Easter. He was so excited and then the Easter Bunny came to see him again twice at his Grandma's and MeMe's house. We spent the night before Easter with Grandma Candy and PaPa Kenny where he went on an Easter Egg Hunt and we spent Easter Day with MeMe and PaPa Jeff where he had another egg hunt. Wyatt got so many presents and candy. He was in candy Heaven.

So, on a side note...Wyatt is almost potty trained I think. He started asking to pee and poop a lot lately in the potty, so we decided to give potty training a try. We started last Friday and about a week later, he is doing awesome. It's Monday today and the last accident he had was on Thursday night. He went all weekend without an accident. We are so proud of him. He is even to the point now where he tells us when he has to go almost all of the time. I can't believe how fast my little boy is growing up. Bye for now!

Florida

We are back from Florida, and we had a wonderful time. We went to the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park, looked for chamelions outside my Grandfather's house, fed seagulls at the beach, and spent a day at Disney World. We also stopped by a tent full of animals from a local rescue group that were set up in the grocery parking lot for the weekend. There Wyatt got to hold a baby lion. He enjoyed this tent of animals so much. When you ask him about Florida. He says camel peeing, kangaroo jumping and tiger big mouth. Those are all the things he saw there. Wyatt loved looking for chamelions. He wanted to spend almost every minute we were there outside looking for lizards. He would be very quiet trying to find them and then scream and point when he finally did. He even held one. He enjoyed being outside so much, and even though it could have been warmer, it made me excited for spring. We went on a couple of walks and he told me to be quiet because we might see a bear. The day we went to the beach it was windy and chilly, so we didn't stay there very long. Wyatt cried when we had to leave. My mom and I took him to Disney World for the day. We had a wonderful time. Wyatt got to meet Pluto, Mickey and Minnie. We rode Dumbo, which was his favorite, the haunted house, It's a Small World, Aladdin's flying carpet, teacups, and Peter Pan's ride. It was nice to spend some quality time with my parents and my grandfather, who's turning 85 on Sunday. Wyatt and I flew home on Wednesday, and he did really well on the plane. He sat on my lap the whole time watching movies, reading books and eating snacks. He loved when we were landing and we got low enough that he could see the semi trucks on the ground. He kept pointing them out. I can't believe my little man is turning two next week. He is so sweet, so smart, so funny...I am so lucky and I couldn't ask for more. Enjoy the Florida pics. Bye for now!

Big Boy Bed

We moved Wyatt into a full size bed last Thursday. His crib is a convertible crib, and he has been in the toddler bed for the past 6 months. He loves his new big boy bed. He carried around a screwdriver the whole time Joe was converting it, and he kept saying "helping Daddy build my big boy bed". He was very proud, and is very excited. He is doing well with it so far. He has not gotten out of bed near as much as he did with the toddler bed, which is very nice for us. Wyatt and I are getting ready to go to Florida for a long weekend with my parents to visit my Grandfather. We are driving there with my parents, but will be flying home just Wyatt and I. I am excited for Wyatt's first time on a plane, but am very nervous to fly without Joe or another adult with us. He has been so funny lately. The other day he was watching basketball and Joe changed the channel, and he said "hey, I wanted to watch basketball". We just laughed. He continues to use the potty to pee in occasionally but we haven't started any formal potty training yet. Here are some pics of his new big boy bed and a few from the past month. I will be sure to post some pics from Florida and his first plane ride. Bye for now.

Playing Catch Up

I know these are long overdue, but I wanted to post some pictures from the past couple of months. We had a really wonderful holiday season and, I was somewhat sad for it to be over. Time is flying, and Wyatt will be two in 6 short weeks, and I have already started planning. I'm thinking since we had a big shindig last year, we are going to try and keep it somewhat small this year so we can have it at home. Wyatt is really into trucks, so we are having a truck; specifically a dumptruck party. I'm very excited and I've already started planning. He is so much fun right now. He is so inquisitive lately. He is always asking "Mommy where did that car come from" or "Mommy what is that semitruck doing?" His newest thing is "yeah" which is most appreciative instead of the no we hear a million times a day, but we are trying to get him to say yes. He is wanting to be more independent and do everything himself...my little baby is growing up. Not much is new here...just loving every single minute with our Wy Man. Enjoy the pictures.

We Will Miss You Hunter Kuckartz

Hunter Farber Kuckartz June 22, 2002- November 27, 2009
Around three weeks ago, we found out our wonderful dog Hunter had cancer pretty much all over his body. There was nothing to do for him except love him to pieces, make sure he wasn't suffering and make sure his last days on earth were the best we could. Hunter's appetite had been decreasing and that's how we ended up figuring out something was wrong. The doctor put him on Prednisone and an appetite stimulant and the next day he was like a different dog. He ate something like 2 cheeseburgers from McDonalds and 12 chicken nuggets. I was amazed, and for a couple of hours, even started to wonder if maybe the Vet was wrong. He still didn't want much to do with dog food, so we brought him home cheeseburgers every night. His appetite was great for about a week or so and then started to decrease again. It finally got to the point on Thanksgiving that he only had a couple of bites of food. On Friday after Thanksgiving, we couldn't get him to eat anything. His cancer had spread to his lungs, and on top of the no appetite, he was having trouble breathing. He had lost a lot of weight and we thought he had gotten to the point where his quality of life wasn't very good, so we decided to put him down on November 27th (which happened to be our 5th anniversary...needless to say, we are going to celebrate later). I was not able to go. I said goodbye to him here at home and Joe took him. It was the hardest thing that we have ever had to do, and I love Joe for being so strong so that Hunter was with one of us until the end. Joe said Hunter didn't seem scared. Joe left right after Hunter went to sleep, so he didn't have to see him stop breathing. Coming home to a house that didnt' have Hunter in it was so hard and I'm sure it will be hard for awhile. Joe and I got Hunter August 9, 2002...only 3 months after we started dating. I remember the day like it was yesterday. Like most dog lovers would know, especially the ones who get dogs pre kids...Hunter was our baby. We took him everywhere with us, dressed him up for holidays, got him ice cream from the drive thru. Hunter was a little mischevious though. He chewed up so many of my dad's socks when he was a puppy. He would roll in the most disgusting things he could find, and he was notorious for getting food out of the trash(he even opened a jar of peanut butter somehow and licked it clean), and getting food off the counter. He ate an entire pie that my sister in law had gotten for her birthday before she even got a piece. He was such a sweet, lovable, handsome dog though that even when he was misbehaving, he still had everyone won over. Hunter had been through everything with us. He was with us during several moves, getting married, getting Daisy, and having Wyatt. I remember that we missed him so much on our honeymoon. Speaking of having Wyatt. He was so good with him. He let Wyatt do whatever he wanted to him and never made a peep. Before we knew he was sick, Wyatt would jump on him to give him hugs and kisses. It had to hurt, but you wouldn't have known. Hunter set such a high standard, and will be the dog that we compare every dog to. We love Hunter sooo much, and will miss him more than I can even say right now, but am still so grateful for the seven years we got to spend with him. Daisy seems to be doing okay. She is maybe acting a little different, it is hard to say. I think she is going to be a little spoiled for awhile though, getting bones brought home for her, and getting to go more places with us. Wyatt still talks about Hunter but not as often as I thought. He did still pray for him tonight though. When we were saying our prayers, he reminded me that we pray for Hunter. On Thanksgiving when Joe's Grandpa was saying Grace, Wyatt kept saying Hunter. I guess he associates praying with Hunter right now, which is okay. I know Hunter brought joy to a lot of lives, and his memory will continue to bring joy to ours. Please enjoy the pictures of our Hunter. Bye for now.

I'm Not a Lyin...I Have One Cute Lion!

We had such a fun October. Wyatt got a lot of use out of his costume. We went to a costume party at Dani's house, a party at Daddy's work, Zooboo and Halloween. He never minded putting on his costume and he had so much fun. He absolutely loved Zooboo. He enjoyed the animals so much and had fun with Mommy, Daddy, MeMe, Papa and Dani and family. He also enjoyed going to Daddy's work and seeing all the doggies(for some reason there were more dogs there than kids). He also loved Halloween. He got the hang of trick or treating after the first house or so and would say "More" after each house. He had a huge entourage on Halloween. He had 4 grandparents with him, a great grandparent, a Mommy and Daddy and an aunt and uncle. We had so much fun this past month. I'm so excited for the next couple of months and celbrating the holidays with my favorite cuddly lion. On the Wyatt front, he is doing great and continues to grow and change each and every day. He can sing all his ABCs now all the way through(occasionally skipping a letter here and there) and he can sing You Are My Sunshine(with Mommy's help-he fills in the words). He is obsessed with fruit snacks and asks for them all day, and would eat them for breakfast if it was up to him. He loves football and calls out football when it comes on, but he thinks all the players are falling though. He points out every vehicle on the road including police car, firetruck, school bus, semi truck, big truck, motorcycle. He is definitley a boy's boy.

Other fun things we have done the past few weeks included tailgating at Scotty's for the Colts game, visiting Stoney Creek again and playing in the leaves!

Hope you enjoyed the pics. Bye for now!
